Synopsis "Indecent Liberties: Some Crimes Are Worse Than Murder"

Some crimes are worse than murder. Social workers are uniquely placed to spot neglected, forgotten and discarded children. One has found a way to make a little money off these unfortunate kids. She brings these children to the attention of Uncle Pete. Pete is one of a cadre of "uncles." The uncles collect these children and clean-up loose ends. With care and attention the uncles bring the children to Auntie. Auntie gives these sad, confused and frightened children the home they never knew, the love they never had, the care they have never known. Out in the country, provided good meals, good friends and good times these children find a new life. A life no child could imagine or should ever have to. Because while Auntie loves, she desensitizes; while she feeds, she conditions; while she heals cuts and scrapes, she steals childhood. Auntie turns the children into . . . a product . . . for rent, by the hour. * Auntie is being stalked by law enforcement. A team of police officers, ranks and departments no longer relevant, are on loan to a special unit. They are all volunteers. The duty is difficult and the hours are long. No one complains. They are led by Police Inspector Jacqueline "Jack" MacKenzie. "Jack" has a secret. It's a secret every member of her team shares. On their side is a court-appointed defense lawyer -- just trying to do the right thing, just trying to help -- who gets in way over his head. Our story starts with Andy, who is about to start the process of becoming Auntie's newest product.
