Synopsis "Individuo y División de Poderes (in Spanish)"

Los ensayos aquí reunidos exponen, en palabras de su autor, «un escepticismo fundado en una filosofía de la finitud». La duda escéptica implica la sensibilidad hacia la «división de poderes», esto es, entiende que el individuo libre no puede surgir más que de una pluralidad de convicciones y tendencias reales. En calidad de seres finitos, los hombres solo adquieren su libertad a partir de las múltiples realidades que los definen y se limitan unas a otras, sin que ninguna determine de forma exclusiva al individuo: sola divisione individuum. Por eso, este escepticismo filosófico de la finitud humana, cuyo camino fuera emprendido por Odo Marquard «inmediatamente después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial», haciéndose cargo del «horror y el desengaño» de la época, constituye asimismo una defensa del civismo burgués frente a sus negaciones totalitarias.
