Seit mehreren Jahrzehnten wird die Qualität von Bibliotheken anhand der Qualität und Quantität ihrer Sammlungen beschrieben. Die Indizes, einschlie lich des Umfangs, der Arten, der physischen Qualität, des Umfangs, der Aktualität und der Relevanz von bibliotheks- und informationswissenschaftlichen Publikationen, insbesondere von solchen, die von Bibliothekaren verfasst wurden, und des Ausma es der Verfügbarkeit dieser Publikationen in ausgewählten wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in Nigeria, sind nach wie vor Gegenstand von Diskussionen unter Bibliothekaren und Lehrkräften.
