Throughout the years, it has been the source of numerous strange stories and tales. Both Indians and early settlers to this area spoke about confrontations with huge bi-pedal hominids that reside in the Okefenokee. Some people believe they still live there. The locals call them Swamp Apes or Skunk Apes. The stories in this book span a time period of almost 1,000 years. They are works of fiction, however, they are all based on historical facts and on recorded stories involving this legendary beast that was known by the ancient Indians as ka-ahn-chu-ka.
