Synopsis "Kathleen's Voyage"
In a world of contentment and order, KATHLEEN O'MALLEY'S life, as a kindergarten teacher in Dublin, Ireland, is turned topsy-turvy by two parish priests and loving, but naïve, parents. None envision or consider the possibility of an attack that will change her life completely. It is 1948 when Kathleen sails for America to be housemaid and receptionist for Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Chicago, Illinois. After outbursts and objections to leaving home, she agrees on one condition. She will stay only one year. The two priests, FATHER CAHILL, Pastor of the church in Ireland and FATHER McLEAN, Pastor of the church in Chicago, accept her terms, but her passage back to Dublin would have to be her expense if she decides to resign. Again, the author leads us through mystery and suspense as we travel the greenery and beauty of Ireland while zigzagging back and forth to America.
