Synopsis "Knowledge of Anganwadi Workers about Integrated Child programme"
Need for the Study Though Anganwadi Workers are key player to enhance health and nutritional status of women and children at the grass root level, but recent studies show that they are less capable of providing recommended Material and Child Health (MCH) services to the deprived group of population (Davey and Datta, 2004; Thakare et al 2001). Though government is spending lot of money on ICDS programme, impact is very ineffective. Most of the study concentrated on the nutritional and health status of the beneficiaries of ICDS. Less focus has been shifted over to assess the knowledge and awareness among AWW regarding recommended ICDS programmes, who are actually the main resource person.
