Este trabajo previo del dibujo ocupó al artista como media semana, y quedó tan satisfecho de él, que hubo de otorgarse a sí mismo, en el silencio de la falsa modestia, ardientes plácemes. Está todo tan propio--decía la Pipaón con entusiasmo inteligente--, que parece se está viendo el agua mansa y los rayos de la luna haciendo en ella como unas cosquillas de luz.... Pegó Bringas su dibujo sobre un tablero, y puso encima el cristal, adaptándolo y fijándolo de tal modo que no se pudiese mover. Hecho esto, lo demás era puro trabajo de habilidad, paciencia y pulcritud.
