La tentación de la escritura es la denominación con la que Iván D. Forero Sánchez nombra su creación poética. Este libro recoge los primeros seis volúmenes de una obra que sigue en marcha. Cada sección tiene a fecha de composición, para darle una idea al lector de las trasformaciones que han surgido en el periplo de su escritura. Si en la primera parte hay un interés por reflexionar sobre las formas tradicionales del poema y, en el segundo apartado una dedicatoria a autores que han marcado a Forero también se evidencia una ruptura con la tradición desde el volumen tres,  un lenguaje menos lirico. que raya con lo coloquial y piensa lo cotidiano con una ironía más fuerte.
