Vincent illustrates how each of the three monotheistic faiths are mere adaptations of previous faiths - Judaism copied the Babylonians, Christianity copied the Greeks and Romans, and Islam copied everyone. Also shown is the connection between religion and mental illness. Based upon generally accepted diagnostic criteria, religious adherents would easily garner the diagnosis of Schizotypal Personality Disorder. Vincent exhorts the reader to embrace freedom and liberate them self from the God myth. We alone control our destiny and we alone must take responsibility for our actions. Honing one's moral compass becomes much easier once out from under the thumb of this immoral and sadistic God.
