From cradle to grave life is filled with accountability. We humans count on each other as well as on things for making life work. The Scriptures affirm that God, Who is all-powerful, is counting on the followers of His Son Jesus Christ to full-fill the 5-E Mission given to His church: (1) Exalting Christ, (2) Evangelism, (3) Edifying saints, (4) Equipping saints, and (5) Enduring faithfully to the end. The command for this mission is found in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15, 16; Ephesians 4:11-17, etc.). Paul referred to the follower of Christ as "cheap clay pots" into which the Gospel has been committed (2 Corinthians 4:7). Therefore, it is clear that the Lord is counting on us. Sadly, the evidence shows that not every Christian can be counted on by the Lord to do His will (Cf. Matthew 7:21-23).
