2nd DIMENSION was written with one aim in mind, making the study of mathematics interesting, challenging and fun. The ideas and activities can be used to supplement any math program. 2nd DIMENSION covers: math puzzles, games, gimmicks, tricks, worksheets, patterns, solutions, shortcuts, problem solving activities plus more. During the many years of teaching, grades 3-8, the author started each new school year with this posted equation...PATTERNS+THINKING=MATH. Searching for patterns and thinking are the keys to learning mathematics fundamental. If you follow this equation you will be able to do anything in math. 2nd Dimension is all about patterns and thinking and at the same time spark a true student interest in the subject of math. A good attention "getter" is Memory Trick page 40. In order to solve problems, puzzles and win games we must exercise our mental power, look for patterns and think logically. Everyone likes to work with puzzles and games...so be prepared to enjoy yourself as you progress through the pages of 2nd DIMENSION. The author has include a variety of games, activities and puzzles that can be used creatively at most grade levels. Be free to revise or modify to suit your own classroom program. BE CREATIVE!!!
