The dramatic journey takes place in 2009, inside the small town that was rocked with tragedy, when 17-year-old high school senior named Richard Bates murders three classmates, while filming the incidents. Unlike the film, the original screenplay is excluded from interviews with the killer's friends, family, and professionals. And instead, takes you on an intense ride with just the killer, Richard Bates and his camcorder, as he lets the readers in on his own dark and twisted thoughts which lead to his psychotic actions. It all builds up to a very intense ending where Richard will either go down in history as one of the best serial killers, or be remembered as another disturbed teen who tried to make a statement to the world.
