Elmira Wells Pennypacker served as Phoenixville's first Library Director from 1898 until her untimely death in 1916. She is also reputed to be one of five of the Library's resident ghosts. The sixth in the historical Novel of Phoenixville series by June J. McInerney, this is a delightful light-hearted mystery that, through Elmira's journal and the search for her messenger quilt, encompasses a few salient moments of Phoenixville's history.
