Synopsis "My Name Is Juan"
Juan de Dios Rivera Muñoz was born on September 25, 1947, in the city of Concepción, Chile. He was the first of 18 siblings, of which only 10 would survive to adulthood. From a young age, Juan began a difficult life. From his first days, was rejected by an alcoholic father, being subject to constant physical and psychological abuse that with the years lead to a mental illness that would torture him for the rest of his days. Throughout his life, Juan de Dios Rivera Muñoz, the man who for many was considered a madman, accomplished things that many only limit themselves to dream. Juan had found a formula to appease his mental illness. The man whom many thought that was destined to live his life depending on others, over the years managed to prove otherwise. In search of a better future, Juan left his homeland several times, venturing to explore unknown lands, where he learned to love and also tasted disappointment. Juan de Dios Rivera Muñoz was a man who despite living a simple life, yet full of experiences and adventures, always kept in his heart a special affection for his country. My Name is Juan is the true story of a man who fought throughout his life against a countless number of trials, but with great determination, always managed to overcome them. His life was an example that proves once more that anything is possible when you are determined.
