Synopsis "Neo-Imaginative Empiricism and Creativity"

During the course of our action filled lives it is very easy to take for granted our ability to Sense the world around us and our dependence upon our bodies for this ability. Because we take this ability to Sense our environment through touch, sight, sound, smell and taste for granted we may come to believe that this ability issues from, and is produced by, the body alone. This is an erroneous belief for what is left out of such a belief is the fact that it is the individual that actually makes 'sense' of what they Sense. The ability to perceive in the manner which we do and have a world-view is not something we acquire at birth but is learnt as we mature from infancy to adulthood. We do not simply look at the world but think about it as we look, and also have emotional responses to that which is seen. The implication of this is that our Perception, which in essence is how we see the world, is in reality an effect of our own consciousness. This book examines the basis of Perception and asks the question "Does Perception Change if any of the Factors required for its Creation Alter"? As a Fine Artist (www.artskape.me) the significance of what I perceive and the manner of its reception is vitally important for my creativity and so this book also offers an insight into my work and the paintings of Francis Bacon (1902-1992). If it is possible to transform our ordinary Perception then this would be a perceptive-mode that complimented and enhanced ordinary perception and does not supplant it.
