Synopsis ""Now What? "N"

In June 178 A.D., the king of the Britons, named as Lucius, sent a letter written in Latin to Pope Eleutherius begging him to send  missionaries to Britain and to convert himself and his people to Christanity. That was done, and in 459, the king of Britons called Vortigern asked  the newly confederated Germanic tribes of Engels, Kimbern and Saxons to help him in fighting against the Picts and Scots who were invading his country. The first Germanic Merceneries arrived in 449 A.D. and Vortigern imediately put them to work in bringing the invading Picts and Scots to heel. These Germanic warriors were under the command  of the twin Kimbern (Germanic tribe from the north of the Jutland peninsular) princes called Hengest and Horsa. The Germanic protectors were welcomed  everywhere they went and  soon the Engels (Angles) and Saxons arrived. This resulted in the Engels  settling in Northumbria, parts of Essex, and  other areas, while the Saxons settled in Wessex, Sussex, and some other areas, while the Kimbern settled in Kent and the Isle of Wright. The Engels (Angles) called the area where they settled Engel-land. After seven years, the Britons grew tied of their Germanic allies and broke the truce between them, resulting in both peoples fighting. that resulted in the Britons going to the west coastal area of Northumbria, Wales and Cornwall. The story continues to the end of reign of King Alfred the Great and his struggle against the Danish Viking invaders.
