Ayrs first began his long-and-distinguished career as an artist. In addition to exhibiting his fine-line drawings and abstract paintings at the Contemporary Royale Gallery in the Pacific Northwest, Ayrs was also commissioned by the City of Vancouver to create kiosks to enliven the downtown core. In quiet moments of reflection, Ayrs often pondered life and his "belly button" (in his own words). The end result is this collection of insightful poems that are somewhat philosophical in nature. The outgoing self-proclaimed people-watcher is probably best-known around the globe as a high-profile blogger.
