Synopsis "obtaining the pearl"
Truth is a term everyone understands with declared value and strong belief unless it is our own truth that needs questioned in times of discontentment. This truth now points to others as the blame for our unhappiness. Truth bypasses us. Someone else must be at fault! We become fearful of accepting responsibility for our own happiness because we fear loss of any control we might have for our destiny if we allow the carefully built wall of non-emotion to break or any fear of potential rejection from a significant other. We move into a mode of survival and hold on more tightly to something we may need to release. What monster may break through the surface if we cause a crack in that wall which could plummet us into the deeper ocean waters of unknown darkness? We may even choose to completely ignore situations that have blocked our journey of introspection because it is too painful. This was written in hopes that anyone can relate, identify and investigate parts of themselves without fear of uncovering hidden layers that hide the pearl already within us. The powerful term of "self esteem" does not need to be so overwhelming that we choose to avoid the developmental journey altogether. Self-esteem is merely a term, which identifies how much truth you know about yourself and if you are comfortable with what you know. You know you can change parts you don't like or refine what you do like. High self-esteem is love of yourself. This is the only truth we seek in the end.
