Synopsis "Paolo the Brave"
A little kitten learns to cope with the confusion of losing and missing his cat family and loving his forever human family. He initially puts on a brave face to hide his sadness as he learns to adjust to his new life. Young children experience a wide range of emotions. The way they are supported and helped with understanding and managing those emotions in their early years will impact enormously on how they cope with the increasing emotional demands throughout childhood, adolescence and adulthood. In this factional picture book, Paolo - a little kitten - shares some of the fear, anxiety and confusion he experiences when he leaves his cat family behind and starts a new life with his forever human family. Children will relate to Paolo, especially where they have experienced changes in their permanent care arrangements. The book contains some brief guidelines for adults with suggestions of ways to help children deal with these emotions. Separate training manuals for professionals are also available.
