Paris, France l954, nine years after the end of World War II. Visitors were coming to the City of Light. Many were tourists spending their vacations, but others had long-range outlooks. A new wave of expatriates became another "lost generation." A young American seeking adventure in a Europe coming to life finds himself drawn into situations that both attract and frighten him. He is pulled toward intimacy with desirable women, while still hoping to escape them. The cafe life that he is now a part of has become an addiction, aside from his favorite alcoholic drinks.
