Synopsis "Perdido Bay Blues: The Struggle to Save Perdido Bay"
This historical account tells the tale of a long-term effort by the author and other citizens living on Perdido Bay in Northwest Florida, and their attempt to rescue that bay from the ravages of paper mill pollution. The story spans the presidencies of Clinton, Bush and Obama and shows how the environmental policies of both state and federal governments thwarted the endeavor. It also shows powerful economic interests skewing environmental decisions while attempting to cover-up poor decisions made by environmental policymakers. The cover-up includes poor science, fake toxic algae blooms, lost data concerning public attacks and other malfeasance. This story provides the reader with insight into how environmental regulations work or do not work. The book is written from the viewpoint of the author describing her involvement in 30 years of lawsuits and court battles.
