Synopsis "Philoctète (in French)"

Philoctète est une tragédie de Sophocle où personne ne meurt, et qui, de plus, a trois personnages principaux, sans héros véritable (si ce n'est que l'un des trois est éponyme). On a pourtant dit qu'il s'agissait d'une de ses pièces les plus tragiques. Le tragique de la pièce réside en effet dans le fait que Philoctète est expulsé de l'humanité même et retourne presque à un état primitif, à la frontière entre l'homme et l'animal (il ne peut par exemple se tenir debout à cause de sa blessure et est obligé de ramper). Et alors qu'il croit renouer avec l'humanité, par la parole échangée avec Néoptolème, l'amitié de celui-ci s'avère feinte, et il l'a en fait trompé par cette parole mensongère, qu'il considérait comme salvatrice.
