Synopsis "Pillapie and Thumpleton"
From the attic window of an old Philadelphia row house, the ghost of David Meadows spends eternity apathetically watching sunset after endless sunset fall over Green Street. The only breaks in his monotony are the occasional visits from Walter, a mysterious stranger about whom he knows almost nothing. One late summer afternoon, Erin Porter, a young widow and her seven-year-old mute daughter Zoe move into the upstairs apartment of the old house and, at first, David has as little interest in them as he's had in the house's many other tenants. But that changes one day when Zoe, while exploring the attic, comes across an unfinished children's book that David had written as a young man. Seeing this book for the first time since he was living causes David to look back at his own life and he begins to wonder why he became a ghost trapped in the old house in the first place. He also finds himself becoming more and more attached to Erin and Zoe and more interested in understanding how and why the little girl lost her voice. And even if he can solve that mystery, David wonders what he can, or should, do about it.
