Synopsis "Pope Pius XII: Not Guilty!"
Pope Pius XII has been accused of doing little to help Jews during the Holocaust out of callousness or contempt for Jews. This book argues that that accusation makes no sense, that his policies were motivated neither by hatred for Jews nor by concern for them, but by his desire to halt the spread of Stalinism, and that this desire was perfectly reasonable. Furthermore, Pius's behavior was no worse than that shown by many other world leaders at various times, such as Bill Clinton, Woodrow Wilson, Harry Truman, Yitzhak Shamir and Ariel Sharon, yet one rarely hears Pius's critics denouncing those men.
