Synopsis "Queen of the Cats"

Sarah and her brother Michael move to New Orleans, where they discover a doorway, hidden in a secret garden. It opens on another world, and leads them into the heart of an ancient war between cats and rats. They join forces with their two cats, Jesse and Belle, on a quest to protect the city from an invading army of rats. They must find a missing key, lost in a deep and dangerous swamp, and lock the doorway before the rats can slip through. Along the way, Sarah must free her cats and her brother from the clutches of the evil rat queen, defeat an army of rats, and restore Belle to the throne of Cathaven. Facing rats armed with deadly plague, getting lost in the Dismal Swamp, and fleeing from hungry alligators, Sarah must overcome her fear of monsters in the dark, and discover the true meaning of bravery. Written to be read out loud, or as a first "chapter book" for older children, this book is the first volume in the Felinia trilogy. (For ages 7 to 12).
