Synopsis "Regina Hunts the Highwaymen"
After an extremely close call in her second provincial election, Regina Colwell MLA finds herself at Squatters' Ridgeon the rural edge of her district investigating the tragic deaths of a constituent and a dear friend. There, on a dangerous stretch of highway, she encounters a marginal community of Indigenous squatters. She's just trying to help, so why are they shooting at her and trying to run her over in a truck? And why is the minister of highways so sensitive when she asks about the Ridge during question period? Regina is stumped, but keeps going back to the rain-soaked Ridge to find some answers. The young legislator's aggressive investigation ultimately leads to the resignation of a cabinet minister and the surprising discovery of a ruthless killer.
