Synopsis "Review on Biomass"
Today, mostly the power resources are non-renewable sources of energy called fossil fuels. The world energy demand is increasing day by day, so the consumption of these resources has rapidly increased. The regular uses of these sources pollute our environment. During the combustion process they release many hazardous gases in the environment such as CO2, NOx and SOx. Among these gases CO2 is the main source of green house effect and global warming. Global warming is the high alert for our climate. Now it's time to change the trend of non-renewable resources to renewable sources like biomass, biogas and solar energy for heat and power production. Biomass is derived from all living matters. It is carbon neutral to utilize for energy and homogeneously distributed in large quantities everywhere in the world. It is an environmentally friendly resource because it stables the carbon cycle of nature. Biomass found in nature is excessively moist and irregular in sizes which make it difficult to transport and feed directly into the conversion unit. So, biomass processing and proper preparation is required before feed to gasifier for production of fuel gas.
