The present volume deals with the declining, but by no means lazy years since the road "winds uphill all the way." It also describes the new Long Ground and some of its cavalcade of achievers in the modern era. The thought is that Long Ground and its people are ever with Fergus and in him; and Long Ground is a microcosm of Montserrat.
