Synopsis "Rutting and Fatigue of Polymer Modified HMA Concrete"
Over the years, road structures have deteriorated more rapidly due to increases in service traffic density, axle loading, and low maintenance services. Several road pavement distresses related to bituminous properties. Rutting and fatigue cracking are among the major distresses that lead to permanent failure of the pavement surface. To minimise the damage of pavement surface and increase the durability of flexible pavement, the conventional bituminous needs improvement with regards to performance-related properties, such as resistance to permanent deformation. The modification of bituminous has been explored over the past years in order to improve road pavement performance properties. Different kind of additives, such as commercial polymer and waste polymer, has been used in asphalt. This book have reviewed and displayed the way to understand the mechanism of rutting and fatigue. Furthermore, analysis and discussion of the asphalt additive role in improving the asphalt resistance to rutting and fatigue failure have been conducted as well.
