Synopsis "Soldiers Mostly Fools"
Alfred Hyde, a Londoner living in 1941, has grown used to bombs falling night after night. On the other side of the Channel, Florentino Sforza is a Hitler Youth teacher who trains the men who drop them. Their fortunes change when Alfred joins the Royal Air Force as a bomber crewman, but knows all too well that the bombs he drops can't distinguish between civilian and soldier. Florentino is sent to the eastern front, where he begins to find the ideologies he taught without questioning are not what he once thought them to be. Circumstances bring both men to the same town in France, where a chance encounter challenges the will of each man to stay alive, and changes everything they had come to expect from their enemies.
