La tache cible est une maladie des feuilles causée par un champignon appelé Corynesporacassiicola. Les premiers symptômes sont caractérisés par de petites taches circulaires, avec un halo jaunâtre et un point noir au centre. Des lésions croissantes dans des couches circulaires donnent l'apparence d'une "cible". Chez les cultivars sensibles et dans des conditions climatiques favorables, l'évolution de la maladie peut être rapide, induisant une défoliation prématurée. Normalement, la maladie se déclenche après la fermeture de l'interligne en raison de la formation d'un microclimat favorable. Toutefois, ce n'est pas une règle et elle peut survenir plus tôt, selon le cultivar et les conditions climatiques.
