Synopsis "Stay Dead"

If this morning's earthquake wants attention it's going to have to take a number and get in line. Meg Talbot, a 29-year-old journalist, barely has time to catch her breath after her grandfather's murder before being called to assist with a baffling new case and she is not happy about it. In fact, she doesn't even like the handsome man who is now lying in the Crescent Hotel parking lot with a knife stuck firmly in his skull. To make matters doubly pressing, the dead guy is Dr. Greg Westmoreland, ex-fiancé of Meg's cousin Caroline, and the knife in question was last seen in Caroline's hand. Eureka's aging police chief, Sam Powell, is great at many things, crime not being one of them. He sees Caroline as the logical suspect. Meg sets out to clear her cousin's name. The Crescent hotel's famous ghosts are swarming, obviously riled by something that they, but no one else, can understand. Meg, who is one quarter Cherokee (and considered by some to be three quarters Titanic), brings in a Shaman to help deal with the threats. Time is running out and the danger is escalating. Is Meg in the cross-hairs of a mad killer?
