Synopsis "Still Coming Home: Denver Veterans Writing"

"This project was born out of a workshop led by volunteer veterans who are also writers. Some veterans wanted to write but didn't know how to get started. Some veterans were afraid people wouldn't understand their truths. Some veterans wanted to push their current writing process further. Some have kept journals for 50 years. Some are women who've endured misogyny on top of the standard military stressors. Some are Mexican and Native American and have seen their ancestors' stories erased from the dominant military narratives in the United States. But what they all have in common is a sincere effort to tell their stories in the most vulnerable and honest way that they could. We are fortunate to be able to offer this collection to you on behalf of the authors." --The Editors
