Synopsis "Suffering - the experience of the sick person in palliative care"
The provision of specialized nursing care in palliative care aims, among other things, to help relieve the suffering of the sick person. In order to achieve this goal, it is essential to assess the individual's experience of suffering and build a care plan adapted to the uniqueness and complexity of each person. This gave rise to the research problem and the decision was made to carry out a review. This work recognizes the importance of the role of the specialist nurse in caring for people in a palliative situation in a palliative care unit, from the process of identifying the needs of the family/caregivers, to planning and carrying out interventions designed to relieve suffering, promote comfort, well-being and quality of life. The importance of specialized professional training for the development and consolidation of skills, which represent the basis for a path of improvement and permanent adaptation to a constantly changing context, is highlighted.
