Can a man fall in love with another man? Definitely, however it's never easy, especially in 1967.In Surrogate Son, we follow the life of 24 year old Bobby, the sidekick to Gerry who is the best snooker player in Montreal. Bobby's world is all about gambling and men shooting pool for a living yet he has a hard time focussing as he's sexually attracted to some of these men that frequent the pool hall. Thing is, Bobby can't tell anyone, not until he meets up with one of the head guys who makes up part of the organized crime that functions out of this pool hall.Oh, about Gerry, he sees Bobby as his adopted son ever since he took him under his wing. Bobby, however, doesn't regard Gerry as a father figure. In fact, Bobby struggles with his sexual attraction towards Gerry.
