A new school. A rival town. And a powerful enemy obsessed with revenge... On Tallon Jackson's first day at Swansboro Middle School, he's worried about making new friends when he spots a familiar face. Zoro and Tallon were friends in Bible school-at least, Tallon thought they were. But memories can be fickle. When their reunion turns sour, Zoro uses his social clout to turn the entire school against Tallon. The only person willing to befriend Tallon is Terry, an African-American accustomed to being an outsider in a predominantly white school. Terry explains how Zoro has a history of crushing his enemies, but when Tallon disregards this warning he learns firsthand that Zoro is far more sinister than he ever imagined. Following a stint in the hospital, Tallon devises a plan to get himself expelled from Swansboro Middle-and away from Zoro-forever. But when another friend from his past mysteriously enters his life, Tallon sees another way out.
