Eines der interessantesten Merkmale des organischen Gerüsts oder des Kristallwachstums ist der protonenleitende Pfad innerhalb der Ionenkanäle. Das Kristallwachstum ist die wichtigste Phase des Kristallisationsprozesses. Die Wachstumsmethode ist wichtig, weil sie die Konzentration von Verunreinigungen und anderen Defekten beeinflusst. Unter den verschiedenen Methoden ist die Methode der langsamen Verdampfung aufgrund des Lösungswachstums bei niedrigen Temperaturen von gro em Interesse. Die organische Base, wie z.B. Benzimidazol, ist eine sehr interessante Verbindung für das Kristallwachstum, da sie die Eigenschaft hat, Protonen zu akzeptieren. Aufgrund dieser Eigenschaft unterliegt es leicht der Protanation, während es sich mit Carbonsäure verbindet. Der Benzimidazolring ist ein wichtiger Pharmakophor in der Arzneimittelforschung. Wir untersuchten daher die antimikrobiellen Aktivitäten von Benzimidazolium-Salicylat-Kristallen.
