Synopsis "The Astalendis Slave"

A thousand years ago the world suffered a cataclysm. The Elements of Fire, Air, Water and Earth shattered from the fabric of the world and the ability to create complex Invocations was lost. A few have enough talent in one Element to allow them to create simple Invocations. Ellenna is one, an Adept in the Element of Fire. The village of Morrven lies in ruins, attacked and burned by Raiders, its inhabitants killed or hiding in the Great Forest. Ellenna is amongst those captured. She is to be taken down 'The Drop' to the Lowlands and from there on to the opulent city of Astalendis deep in the Irithian desert where she is to be sold as a slave. Despite appearances, Astalendis is not at peace. Three factions struggle for control locked in a delicate balance but the real threat comes from the Solentith Empire across the narrow sea and Ellenna and her friends will be drawn into the desperate struggle to stop the coming invasion.Following on from events in 'The Shattered Rainbow', thus continues Book Two of 'The Fire Adept'.
