The Arat, a young girl who is thought to be a minor talent, is discovered to be a seer-mage. With less than a handful being born throughout the ages, seer-mages are prized more than gold, for they possess the power to make kingdoms into empires. Her abilities, while now too great to hide, are not yet mature. She is vulnerable.Drawing the attention of even the Ancients, the Arat and her sworn protector Khiron flee for safety.
