Synopsis "The Cat Half-Elven"
This may not be the first story you have read about a young person with extraordinary powers that he does not understand, but perhaps this is the first one you have read where this person is an overly conceited orange tabby cat. Bruno the cat is anything but humble, but the full extent of his powers he always wisely hid in his town full of humans until he recklessly allowed a tasty morsel of squirrel to get in the way. Now the town is alerted to his strange powers, and though some think it only a bad omen, being a superstitious people, Balor, the Bogle of the One Eye, an ancient foe who killed Bruno's father, knows the truth and will forever hunt him down, seeking his blood. Bruno and the only two people whom he could possibly call anything close to friends, Plato the Pig and Fido the Dog, must escape the town, fleeing the dark Bogles in search of the Secret Vale in the West, where Elves dwell. On the way, the Three Wayfarers must face an ogre, a wicked witch, goblins, trolls, dwarf pirates, and a little old man with a question to ask...
