Synopsis "The Centennial of a Great Idea: Recalling a Lifetime of Experiences in the National Park Service"

This book is intended to provide an historical record of events occurring during the career of one employee's life in the National Park Service. This is a reference point from which to remember the nostalgic past and record progress of the agency over half the years of its existence. A second purpose of the book is to provide the public with an insight into inner workings of the National Park Service as a government agency. The time frame is in the 1940s, just prior to the National Park Service's fiftieth anniversary in 1966, to the centennial anniversary in the year 2016. The National Park Service was a great idea and my career was a most rewarding experience.
