Synopsis "The Fin-Eating Tree of Waikiki"

Timmy is up early to go boogie boarding with his friends. The surf report is calling for big waves at Waikiki beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. He can't wait, but there's one problem - he forgot that he has to watch his younger sister, Taka. Timmy's mother will let him go if he takes Taka. But here's the second problem - he knows that if Taka gets bored she will get into trouble. Strange stuff has happened when she is around Timmy and his friends. Why is the tree eating the fins? Who gets into trouble and who has to save the day? Find out in this funny, fast paced comic book that follows Taka, Timmy and his friends over their NON-boring day at the beach. This story was partially based on an experience the author and his friends had while growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii. Geography, local food and slang (Hawaiian Pidgin English) as well as Hawaiian words are included in the story. An author's note and a word matching game are included at the end of the book.
