She likes to gamble, and is the ultimate participant in the community hog races. Her closest companion is a slobbering Saint Bernard. She spends her time traversing a massive hedge maze that is more than it appears, and doing battle with a flock of evil birds, whose caws can bring blood from your ears. Her Kingdom is dark and covered in dirt and grime, and yet Michael finds himself intrigued. He came to Gloom only for a peace treaty to please his father, but he finds something in the rundown kingdom that is much more important. Something that will uproot his world, and change everything he knows. Everything he believes. Everything he hopes for. Everything that matters.
