Synopsis "The Gingerbread Dinosaur"

Suzie Q is the youngest member of the Goodcookie family. Every winter, the town of Ginger Cake has a contest to see who can make the very best ginger cake. Everyone in the Goodcookie family has won first prize except Suzie Q. This year she really wants to win but she can't decide what to make. Whatever it is, she knows it will have to be really great. The time for the contest draws near and Suzie Q still hasn't made her cake for the contest. When she does decide, she's not sure she will win, but she knows she will do her best. When the time comes to prepare her ginger cake, will she have enough time? Will she be able to catch her ginger cake? Will it eat all of the other prize entries? Will anyone in her family be able to win? These questions can only be answered in "The Gingerbread Dinosaur."This book was created as a project to discover and understand what it takes to make a story. Morgan (age 7) illustrated the story and helped her dad with some of the key storyline elements. For Morgan, the motivation and inspiration to write this book began at the University School of Nashville, where as part of the curriculum (starting in kindergarten), children are taught not just the importance of reading and writing, but more specifically, the power of telling a story. After all, everyone's life is a story.Since this is a story about food, and many people in the world go without food, Morgan agreed to give half of any money made from the sale of this book to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, whose mission, is to feed hungry people. We hope you enjoy our story about a girl, her family and a gingerbread dinosaur.
