Synopsis "The Heart of Dixie: Sweet Memoirs of Faith and Family"
The Heart of Dixie begins in Hartford, Alabama in 1951 and shifts to Canton, Ohio in 1969. It focuses on the life of the author, a young colored girl, who embraces who she was, who she wanted to be and who she has become. The author who has been writing for around six years sees this book as a writing of love and a means to capture and preserve a proud piece of her family's legacy and to show them "With God all Things are Possible" (state of Ohio Motto). Her two sons Michael and Kevin inspire her to leave this recollection of her life so that they, their children and grandchildren will have an opportunity to learn some history from which they come from and to get a glimpse of a generation they never knew. Looking back at her childhood, she wants her sons and grandchildren to know the journey that she traveled to get to where she is and become who she is.
