Deadly assassins, genetically modified alien armies, highly trained augmented humans and the most advanced technology of any intelligent species have given the Six Great Empires of Earth control of vast areas of the galaxy. Billions of aliens live, fight and die under human banners. But the main threat to human dominance is humans themselves. In a universe strikingly similar to Earth in the early twentieth century, bitter rivalry between the Six Empires has driven one of them to develop an alien weapon like no other. Fifty thousand well-armed human soldiers are massacred at the blink of an eye, bringing the uneasy peace to an abrupt end. Terry Southend, a highly trained marine, finds himself in the middle of these turbulent times. Partnering with Heera Kim, a military doctor, he survives overwhelming odds and finds himself slowly being detached from the farcical theocracy for which he had fought and bled. Meanwhile, Bin'ja is on a mission. Humans have destroyed his home and enslaved his people. With a powerful weapon at his disposal, he is travelling to Earth to destroy the heart of the imperialist swarm. But the guidance from a divine figure is telling him that this is not the way for him. Does he heed the advice or continue on and succeed in destroying the home of the accursed humans?
