This edition has been revised and expanded so that those just thinking about counseling or thinking about divorce might benefit from its use. The first part - A CEASE FIRE - offers steps that can be taken to lessen tension without any commitment either to reconcile or to terminate a relationship. The second part of the exercises are basic steps towards peace. They, too, can be taken without a firm decision either to stay together or to split apart. Part three outlines steps towards reconciliation. These steps can be taken to see if a mutually satisfying relationship is possible. Part four assumes that a commitment has been made to this relationship. Love, intimacy and looking forward are steps toward union.
