Synopsis "The Milk Chocolate Tribe"
Jaelyn Harmon, a beautiful, mixed racial athlete, was first abused by her mother's drunken boyfriend, when she was five. At seventeen, she was kidnapped and raped into a gang. She had no intention of being a gang member, nor was she going to allow, Bling, her rapist, to escape punishment. Jaelyn fought back. Bling was arrested, charged and let out of jail on bail. Jaelyn had to become invisible until the trial. Jaelyn found herself living with a sheriff and his wife in a small town where she and her foster mother were the only African Americans. She and her foster family dedicated themselves to keeping Jaelyn safe from Bling's attempts to kill her, and to helping Jaelyn recover from the psychological damage a lifetime of abuse had visited on her. "The Milk Chocolate Tribe" is fast paced, exciting story, but also an in depth look at the psychological damage done to abused children, and how a caring family can participate in their recovery.
