Synopsis "The Murder of Professor Magic"
Arthur Riordan, a sixteen-year-old college freshman and seventeen-year-old, high school senior Gale Flanagan are on a quest to find the killer of Fedor Majorski, Professor of Mythology at Utopia College. The professor's students refer to him as "Professor Magic," although they know nothing about his mastery of the magical arts. Arthur and his mother simply call him The Professor. Only Arthur even suspects Majorski's abilities. The Professor began mentoring Arthur at an early age, although with questionable success on the boy's part. When the Professor fails to return from a day trip to the Museum of Natural History in New York City, Arthur sets out to find him. Upon arriving in the city, he meets Gale. Her father runs a private eye business. The two teenagers join forces and, with a little help from her father, they discover the Professor's body.Gale and Arthur each bring different skills to their efforts to find the killer. Arthur, who grew up on a college campus, is naïve and totally lacking in street smarts. Gale, grew up and works in the city absorbing street smarts and storing them under her locks of red hair. Her access to her father and his detective agency are also useful. Arthur brings his tenacity to the team and his magic, spotty as it is, seems to work when it is needed most.Follow Arthur and Gale as they stumble from one adventure to another, determined to find the Professor's killer and bring him to justice.
