Synopsis "The Pain That Burns"

When her husband asks for a divorce, Darcy Burns moves from the city, with her two children, back home to her daddy's ranch in Wimberley, Texas. Darcy wasn't surprised at her husband's request to end things. Their marriage was destined to fail and she was relieved that they were finally going their separate ways. Even though her daddy's ranch was the last place she wanted to be, she knew he would protect her and support her through this change in her life. Darcy expected to start a new life and to become a new woman, but she didn't expect to see him. She didn't expect that the first boy that broke her heart twenty-years-ago would be living there and working as a ranch hand. After he set her free twenty-years-ago, she had finally walked back into Brett Bowen's life, and this time, he was determined to claim her. Brett declared that he would win her back if he ever had the chance to, and now, she was back in his heart with full force. He desperately wanted her, and the way Darcy's sassy southern attitude fought to hide her desire for him, turned him on even more. All he wanted was for her to let go of the past and allow him to be a part of her future, but Darcy's father had a secret and Brett promised to keep quiet. Brett and Darcy's father knew that if she found out, it would be the tragedy that would finally break her, and they loved her too much to watch her fall apart.
